No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. Hello! My name is Daisy, and I am an English teacher at a small alternative learning community in Korea, located in a quiet, historic area surrounded by forests and mountains just outside of Seoul. Since I am not a native English speaker, I sometimes feel that I cannot give my students enough practice in speaking and writing. That’s why we would love to welcome volunteers who can help our teenagers experience natural English in everyday life. Our community was founded in 2011 with the motto: “Growing to stand alone, growing together, and growing with integrity.” We aim to nurture young people to become independent, cooperative, and responsible. At present, about 10 students (ages 13 to 19) are attending. Along with core subjects like Korean, English, and math, students also enjoy literature, arts, music, and creative projects. Volunteers are welcome to join daily school life, encourage English conversation, and share your own culture or hobbies. You will also have time to explore na...

Hello everyone... I'm Madi from Luwu, South Sulawesi Indonesia. I am an English teacher in a local school. Why I'm here now... I love teaching and my goal is to help people in my local area be able to speak English. I am also a painter by trade, and doing some recycling. This is why I need your help to share what you can. I'm a big believer in "think globally, act locally". We are Alberto and Karissa. Alberto is a Japanese/Brazilian glass artist who makes kaleidoscopes that will blow your mind. He is also a handyman with a list of projects for our house. Karissa is from Colorado, USA, working on her Masters degree and teaching online. We were helpers in Brazil and Japan and now enjoy welcoming many travelers to our home. Queer friendly, everyone is welcome here. We bought this abandoned house in 2023 after falling in love with it's traditional carpentry and spacious outdoor area. We have been renovating and repairing and plan to continue indefinitely. The building includes our living space, a glass workshop, a small hotshop, a gallery, and there is a small vegetable and herb garden, natural ground cover, and many trees including fruit trees. Two funny cats also call this place home. Helpers will have a private room. In exchange for staying in our home we ask for help about 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, with chores such as cleaning, home repair and maint...

Next availability: None at the moment. Hi there, I’m Leon. Through COVID, I saw how serious not having food self sufficiency could be, and started to think about agriculture. Currently, I work at a strawberry farm, invested in a vegetable farm, and just got started on a yuzu farm. The average age of farmers in Japan is at 69.2 (as of 2024) and is set to worsen. There is a serious lack of young people choosing to do agriculture. Your help will be truly appreciated by the farmers here. I started my learning journey in agriculture through volunteering, so I want to create similar opportunities for others to learn, and hopefully inspire people to choose agriculture. I will try my best to give you a meaningful experience during your time here! Please let me know if you have any other skills you can contribute! Where is this? Himeji city of Hyogo prefecture. Himeji city has a population of ~500k people, and is considered “inaka” or countryside by most Japanese people. You can get away from...

Im trying to realize my dream, devoted to permaculture and natural architecture on the 25 decare land we purchased in 2021, where there are pine forests and natural water resources, and where natural life is happily alive. My biggest dream is for my daughter and other children to grow up together in a healthy soil, poison-free tables, on a farm full of happy animals, in a community where our friends and guests contribute. We continue to take slow but beautiful steps on the path we set out with this dream, with the efforts of our friends and volunteers who contribute to us. I will be glad to see you among us I have camping tent, large tent, rv caravan, geodesic dome hause for our volunteers and guests to stay. You can also stay here with your own tents and caravans. Namaste! Welcome to our farm and family. We are established as small organic farmers with our parents since 1995, working with Himalayan Permaculture Center based in Surkhet (western part of Nepal). We are a permaculture family with two generation, three of us have our PDC but we are all invested in our land. We are five and three of us speak quite good English but our parent English is simpler, so you will learn some Nepali! If you want to discover the traditional Nepali lifestyle and learn about culture and festival in the Katmandu valley, and also in the same time learn and share your knowledge about permaculture, you are at the good place! Only fifteen minutes by taxi from Thamel (you can also come by bus). You are more than welcome in this nice place that looks like a village. On our land, we grow many different classic vegetables (Tomato, cucumber, peas, potato, onion, garlic…) and we also grow some cereals (wheat, rice…) using Fukuoka system(No Tilling Farming) and System of R...

I’ve been working in trekking and guiding for many years, and now I invite you to be part of our simple, peaceful life in the countryside of Nepal. As a volunteer, you’ll stay in my family home with me, my wife, our young son, and my parents. You’ll become part of our daily life—helping with small tasks like gardening, cooking, taking care of animals, or even teaching basic English to my little boy. No special skills are needed, just a good heart and willingness to connect. In addition to the homestay experience, I also love to take guests on short treks and nature walks in the beautiful hills and forests near our village. About Us We are potters, builders, and land stewards living in a quiet mountain village in Nara, Japan. Over the past few years, we’ve been renovating and restoring a 300-year-old home by hand—while building studios, tending the forest, and shaping a daily life rooted in care. Most of it has been done by just the two of us, with occasional help from friends and volunteers in our community. Now we’re in a season of transformation. It’s time to seek more support, so we can make real progress on long-term projects while also returning our focus to being potters and teachers—which was our original intention in moving to this place. (Francis is a passionate and creative pottery teacher; Yufu has a long-standing practice in Japanese tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and yoga/meditation. We are both deeply involved in clay, glaze, and firing research.) Our next steps include a major house renovation and a landscape-scale reforestation effort. The house renovation will help us welcome more gue...

We are a registered non-profit organization located in the beautiful mountain town of Ella, Sri Lanka. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, sterilize, and rehome street dogs in need — with a focus on long-term, sustainable impact. Our project began as a small shelter born out of necessity. As the number of injured and vulnerable street dogs in the region continued to rise, so did our work. Today, we are proud to be the only active dog shelter in the Ella region, working hand in hand with the local community, volunteers, and our supporting network abroad. We currently care for around 40 dogs on-site and supports many more through outreach and field rescues. Our place is surrounded by beautiful nature and peaceful landscapes – a perfect setting if you're looking to slow down, reconnect with animals, and enjoy meaningful work. You'll wake up to the sound of birds, share your days with friendly dogs, and experience the simple joy of outdoor living in a warm climate. The energy here is...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well as yoga and m...

We have a common area for shower and toilet. We can cook and eat our meals together during the day, and we will also respect your preferences. In your free time, you can walk in the forest and mountains, chill in the r...

Namaste! My name is Dipendra, I’m a 28 year old Nepali man with a passion for nature, culture, and sharing the beauty of my country. I’ll guide you to hidden spots that only locals know, and share stories about the land and culture along the way. This is a chance to truly experience Nepali life from the inside—sharing meals, traditions, laughter, and local knowled...

*IMPORTANT* You have to require a minimum 211A Single Visa to be able to volunteer with us. You can leave us a message if you believe you can and are willing to arrange the visa for yourself. We can help a bit if you need some things with the paperwork. With this visa, you can also volunteer longer in Indonesia and leave more impact:) If you are a student, an international internship visa (211B) will also do. I (Monica) started this budget learning center for everyone (the rich and especially the poor) in my hometown, Sungai Penuh, Jambi province, Indonesia (first). 2 years later, after exploring many things in life, I decided to start a Pay-As-You-Wish learning center on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Little did I know that in a year it has grown unexpectedly great with massive support from many many people. Now we have more than 50 paid part-time teachers teaching in Lombok, Sungai Penuh, and online with more than 300 students all around Indonesia and a few of them ...

Hi... We are a small family. My wife, I and a son stay in the house. My another son and daughters stay away from our home for studying and working. We need volunteers to help us in the guesthouse/house (cleaning, painting, helping with tourists, taking good care of potted flowers etc.) and/or promotion (Designing homestay brochures/flyers,taking photos, editing website contents, online/internet marketing). We do not provide food. There are some grocery shops located within walking distance around the village selling vegetables, fruits, chicken etc . Volunteers need to cook food for themselves at the volunteers' kitchen. The volunteers stay in a private room at the volunteer's hut. Minimum working hours is 3 hours a day and 2 off - days a week. For easier communication, It is recommended that you contact me via whatsapp at +60198610385. Thanks, Ismail
